And a few more...

Some of my own designs.
I even sold ten of them....

I almost couldn't stop laughing.
And I was really, really tired after three days!

Flying high!

That's how I'm feeling after three days at the Stitch'nBitch event!
It was great! First photo is the 'Loani' table. After the first day, her book was completly sold out; tea cosies are becoming the new hype in the Netherlands!

This is a view of the event. There were quilt and embroidery too, it was quite a big event

CWA Crazy Cozy Competition MORE photos

The CWA Crazy Cozy Competition was just NUTS.  NUTS!  I was gobsmacked by the shear numbers of cosies in one place at one time... almost 400.

It was  a lot of fun.

Be sure to pop over to my blog for more.

Nuts.

and more Nuts.

Just another one!

Then there was 2009, haven't made any tea cosies this year.

Did this one for the Maleny teapot show, axially just a last minute creation, lucky I had a box of yarn waiting for me.
And of course a pattern out of Loani's book.

Oh Dear!!

Oh dear, what did I do!!!
I send a picture of a teacosy to my favourite internet yarnstore. Just to show what I did with the book I bought there....(You know..'Wild teacosies!). Now she has asked me to exhibit my teacosoies at the Stitch'nBitch event in Rotterdam! Of course I said YES.
I've never done that before.. I need teacosies, I need teapots....where is the yarn.....where is the second-hand store.....

23/09/2009

I made this tea cosy last year for the Maleny teapot and tea cosy competition, after I bought Loani's book WILD TEA COSIES.
I had a lot of fun adjusting it to my needs. I have done one for this years it is coming up tomorrow and will go till Sunday.

Tea Cosy Challenge of the Day

I was intending to felt small teddy bears today, but wandered on to this blog and saw Grand Purl Baa's 'quickie' challenge instead. So I scrabbled around in the knitted cupcake making drawer and found one plain sponge-coloured 8 ply yarn, one vanilla sparkly 8 ply yarn, and two fancy pink icing 8 ply yarns. I selected a 12 mm set of needles and off I knitted.

I was a tad perturbed to find that the sparkle on the white came and went. So much so that one side of the cosy is relatively hairless. Added a pompom instead of the needle thing.

Overall it is very soft and the combination of four yarns was fun and so quick to knit up. Excellent last-minute pressie potential!

Big Reject

I was of a mind to have some BIG knitting in book number two.  But...well.. it was rejected.

Don't worry.  I rejected it.  It just didn't have enough ....je ne sais quoi.

But if you are up for a quickie.... then size 15mm needles, 4 strands of 8 ply (one strand a bit sparkly) and off you go in rib for two squares.

Stitch the squares together under the spout and handle and fold and skewer at the top.

Practising (posting & tea cosies)

My version of Loani's Sea Clam. I'm hooked! About to try Coral Fantasy! It's fun doing them in different materials. Might get a better photo later.

Pussy Cat Tea Cosies

Good afternoon all, well I have been quite busy knitting pussy cat tea cosies for my daughter's craft stands.

Stage left we have:

The tallest 'Old Tom'; then 'Ginga' and last but not least 'Miss Kitty'.

They were very popular at the craft show and only Miss Kitty is left.

I am relocating to a retirement village ie selling my house and packing but I still have time to knit!

Morpeth Tea Cosy Challenge

Thought you'd like to see some more cosies. I belong to the West Ryde branch of the Knitters Guild of NSW. We did a group entry Little Bo Peep and her sheep.

I also contributed an individual entry called a 'Nest of Eggs'. It made the finals for the choice of best of show. Please note the sold sticker. There were about 150 entries.

And the winner was a beaded number:

Enjoy!!
